Aura is celebrating the start of its second decade with four new procurement framework appointments which will deliver public buildings for health, education, emergency services and community services.

In the first 10 years since the Newcastle based business started in 2007, Aura has delivered more than £300 million of infrastructure projects which have attracted over £200 million of investment in the North East. Over 80 young people have been awarded apprenticeships and more than 800 have had work experience opportunities.

Education and Leisure facilities have been created for over 125,000 local users, enhancing their quality of life and learning.

The recent new framework appointments include:

  • The North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) Construction and Engineering Consultancy framework offers a compliant value for money route for public services to procure a range of engineering and professional services.
  • The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) school buildings framework for the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside which anticipates spending around £160 million on projects up to £4.5 million each.
  • The LHC Framework is designed to deliver schools and community buildings in the North East, Cumbria, North West, Yorkshire and the Humber regions.
  • The ESPO framework for Property, Building and Infrastructure Advice and Management Service.

Kirsty Thirlwell, Chief Executive at Aura, said:

“After our first decade, Aura is now at the heart of the delivery of high quality infrastructure in the North East. The recent framework appointments will support a strong project pipeline going into 2018. We are proud of our track record and look forward to building on this success in the next ten years in partnership with our public and private sector clients across the region.”

Aura has a proven track record in building consultancy, construction, asset management and investment. Recent projects include the Newcastle Laboratory Science City, Northshore Hotel, and Teesside University Library refurbishment.
